The Chief Justice Cushing Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), is based in Scituate, Massachusetts. We meet at noon on the second Thursday of the month during April, May, June, September, October, November, and December.

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), founded in 1890, and headquartered in Washington D.C., is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children. NSDAR consists of over 185,000 members in 3,000 chapters around the world. 

Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. 

Historic

Preservation

through promoting preservation of American cultural traditions, honoring significant historical people, places, and events, and providing Historic Preservation grants.

Education

through supprting teachers in classrooms with educational resources focusing on history, governments, heritage and genealogy; literacy promotion, women's issues, provides scholarships, and publishes a bimonthly magazine, American Spirit

Patriotism

through promoting love of country, for citizens whether by birth or naturalized, recognizing local citizens for outstanding achievements for work in the community, supporting veterans, and distributing patriotic materials.
